Gloster Meteor Mountain Devil
An original landing flap panel from a Gloster Meteor jet fighter.

The meteor was one of the earliest jet fighters and was used in WW2 and onwards.

Although designed by Gloster aircraft were contract built by Armstrong Whitworth at Coventry as well as parts made by many other companies.

To the rear are a couple of data plates that show that it was a Meteor Mk IV made By Armstrong Whitworth in July 1950. We have the second flap in the store.

Acquired several years ago from a mid 50's crash dig we have finally got around to straightening it.
The grey paint is original paint from the RAF. It was underneath a layer of red which was the primer for silver which was under a further layer of red - which had been lacquered.

There are part numbers on the data plate and on the internal structure.

We have added the Mountain Devil artwork that was painted onto the side if an Australian Air Force meteor that fought in the Korean War in the 1950's.

The panel has D-rings on the rear so that it can be wall hung.

The panel is 93 cm x 30 cm

The last image is of the original nose art on the aircraft in Korea.

Price is £200 Plus P&P
